Lynn Marro, PT, DPT, OCS
Lynn is a Rockland County native. She graduated from New York University in 1991 with a B.S. in Physical Therapy. She pursued further education and received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Dominican College in May 2009. She has practiced in Outpatient Physical Therapy, Acute Care, Short Term Rehabilitation and Home Care. She has a special interest in Orthopedics and Manual Therapy which has become her primary focus of treatment. She became a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist in 2007. She is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association's Orthopedic Section. She has attended a multitude of Continuing Education Courses and has been instructed by some of the leaders in the field of Physical Therapy. She joined Rockland Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, PC in 2005 and became Manager of Physical Therapy in 2006.
Galina Vannikova, PT
Galina Vannikova has her professional degree in Physical Therapy from the Medical University of Physical Therapy in Moscow, Russia. After taking the New York State exam and receiving her license in 1996, Galina worked in Nyack Hospital and Helen Hayes Hospital prior to becoming employed by Rockland Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in 2005. Galina has 26 years of clinical experience in rehabilitation and physical therapy treatment of patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics. She has experienced a high rate of success during this period using various methods of physical therapy including electrotherapy, therapeutic exercises and manual therapy techniques such as muscle-energy, myofascial release, joint mobilization and massage. Galina is particularly skilled in the management of osteoporosis and TMJ problems and in biomechanical evaluation of foot and ankle, knees, hips, spine and pelvic girdle. She has been consistently expanding her treatment skills by attending many continuing education courses. Galina has a strong background in medicine and psychology. She is a believer in holistic medicine and in mind and body connection. Galina cares deeply about her patients and goes out of her way to help them progress. She not only gives them therapy but tries to get to know them. Her treatments vary among individuals and are custom to each patient's specific problem. With 16 years in Rockland County, Galina is honored to be a part of Rockland Orthopedics and Sport Medicine at their location in Stony Point, NY.
Dena Wanamaker, PT
Dena earned her undergraduate degree in Physical Education from Manhattan College in 1993. She then went on to attain a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from New York Medical College in 1997. Dena's special interest in pilates encouraged her to study and gain expertise in mat pilates as it relates to the physical therapy setting. As a physical therapist Dena has experience providing skilled patient-directed care in a variety of settings including acute care, homecare and outpatient therapy center(s). In 2006 she became a devoted employee for Rockland Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, PC where she worked in all three office locations. Dena settled into the Monroe office as the Site Supervisor in 2012. She brought with her extensive knowledge of a variety of dysfunctions of the musculoskeletal system and her experience with pre and post op rehabilitation. She excels as a treating clinician and oversees the quality of care provided by all therapy staff. Her treatment strategies incorporate the application of specific and goal oriented therapeutic exercise regimes, the use of manual therapy when indicated and modalities for pain management. Dena continues to incorporate new strategies as learned from her steadfast commitment to continuing her education in multiple facets of the physical therapy field.
Sweta Shah, MSPT
Sweta graduated from Mangalore University, India, in 1999. She received her NY state license in 2009. She began practicing in an orthopedic outpatient facility the United States at Manhattan Physician Group. Sweta has an extensive background in the orthopedic treatment approach and has a thorough understanding of functional manual therapy. She worked with Dr.Vikram Shah, a well-known knee joint replacement specialist in India. She is a determined and dedicated clinician and has spent her last 10 years perfecting her treatment skills in the area of orthopedics. Sweta has been described by her patients as a highly competent and compassionate clinician. Sweta is committed to expanding her already extensive knowledge base through ongoing clinical education in manual treatment and differential diagnosis. She plans to obtain her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Sweta has been practicing at Rockland Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, PC since Aug 2012.
Shira Mosbacher, MSPT
Shira has been a physical therapist since May 2000. She graduated from LIU Brooklyn Campus and worked at Mt. Sinai Medical Center, Helen Hayes Hospital and Englewood Hospital. Shira worked in the outpatient orthopedic setting for most of her career and utilizes a multitude of traditional and integrative manual techniques with her patients. She is pursuing her pilates certification and incorporates pilates into most of her treatment plans. Shira joined Rockland Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, PC in March 2012.
Regan Romanowski, PT
In 2001, Regan received her Bachelors of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Hartford. At this time, she also became certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a personal trainer. Regan joined Rockland Orthopedics and Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy in January of 2001 where she put her skill set to use in providing quality orthopedic and sports therapy care. To supplement her university education, Regan continues to explore the field of physical therapy and expand her knowledge with courses that include: core stabilization, sports and orthopedic therapy, geriatric therapy, manual therapy, exercise therapy and prescription, gait analysis, joint replacement and women's health. Regan also enjoys doing per diem work with the geriatric population in local sub-acute facilities in Orange County.
Alida Garcia, PTA
Alida migrated to the United States from Poland where she graduated from Physical Therapy School in Krakow. After receiving her New York State Physical Therapy Assistant license in 1992, she worked for the New York Medical and Rehabilitation Center in New York City. She joined Rockland Orthopedic and Sports Medicine in 2007. Alida is experienced with orthopedic cases and geriatric care utilizing her exceptional manual skills. Under the skilled Physical Therapist's supervision, Alida strives to provide excellent service to Rockland's community.
