Kenneth S. Austin, M.D.

Dr. Austin is a native of Rockland County and a graduate of Spring Valley High School. He graduated as a Benjamin Franklin General Honors Scholar from the University of Pennsylvania. He received his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. Dr. Austin did his surgical internship and orthopaedic residency at the NYU/Bellevue Medical Center. He then went on to complete a fellowship in Surgery of the Knee and Sports Medicine at Harvard’s Massachusetts General Hospital. His expertise includes treating traumatic and sports related injuries of the upper and lower extremities, and joint replacements of the hip and knee.

William L. Davis, Jr., M.D.

Dr. Davis is originally from Long Island, NY. He attended medical school at SUNY Stony Brook School of Medicine and received an M.D. with Distinction in Research degree. After completing his orthopaedic surgery residency at University Hospitals of Cleveland, he pursued further subspecialty training in Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine at the University of Connecticut and Yale University. He received training in the treatment of sports-related injuries and disorders, concentrating on shoulder and knee problems. A particular area of expertise for Dr. Davis is that of patellofemoral disorders (knee cap problems). He has published a journal article on this subject and has presented work to an international audience at the annual AAOS Meeting.

Dr. Steven Renzoni is a recent transplant from San Diego, California where, in addition to his busy private orthopedic practice, he was team physician for four local high schools and ran a Cerebral Palsy clinic. He graduated from UCLA Medical School in 1980 and completed his orthopedic residency and fellowship at UCSD School of Medicine in 1986. He is a husband of 26 years, father of four beautiful boys, is an avid road cyclist and outdoorsman, and a former college football player, who personally understands the aches and pains of the aging athlete. Cheryl J. Rubin, M.D.

Dr. Cheryl Rubin, a Brooklyn, NY native, is a graduate of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. She trained in Orthopedic Surgery at Montefiore Hospital Medical Center and the Hospital of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, NY and completed Fellowship training in Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine with Orthopedic Research of Virginia in Richmond, VA. In addition to broad experience in general Orthopedics, she has subspecialty expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the shoulder and the knee. Dr. Rubin is an active member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America and frequently instructs at courses on arthroscopic techniques.

Dr. Shuren is originally from Long Island, NY. He obtained his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine and did his orthopedic training at New York University, Bellevue Medical Center. Dr. Shuren did his subspecialty training in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at Loma Linda University Medical Center in California. He has developed expertise in treating all types of upper extremity conditions including arthritis, traumatic and congenital disorders, as well as occupational and repetitive stress disorders from the shoulder to the hand. He performs endoscopic carpal tunnel releases and arthroscopic wrist surgery as well as more traditional procedures. He has published and presented numerous articles in the field of hand surgery. Michael D. Robinson, M.D.

Dr. Robinson, a native of Bergen County, New Jersey, is a graduate of Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. He trained in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. and served as a Major in the U.S. Army Medical Corps during the Gulf War, Somalian, and Bosnian campaigns. He is the former assistant chief of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation service at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Dr. Robinson is one of the first physiatrists in the country to achieve triple board certification. He is the author of several book chapters on the subject of peripheral nerve injuries and the treatment of neuropathic pain. Dr. Robinson has developed an expertise in the non-surgical management of musculoskeletal disorders, with a particular focus on the treatment of neck and low back pain. He has lectured nationally and has served as an examiner for the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Dr. Slaten grew up in Rockland County. He graduated both undergraduate and medical school from Washington University in St. Louis . He completed his training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Kessler Institute in West Orange, NJ . After 4 years in practice, he completed a fellowship in Spine Pain at Florida Spine Institute in Clearwater. He practiced for 6 years in Milwaukee as Medical Director of the Integrative Pain Treatment Center. Also, he was President of the Wisconsin Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. With triple board certification in physical medicine and rehabilitation, electrodiagnostic medicine and pain medicine, Dr. Slaten has special interest in neck and back pain. Yining Zheng, M.D., M.S. Inpatient Rehabilitation, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Board Certified
Dr. Zheng graduated from Shanghai Medical University and did her initial training in Internal Medicine. She was recruited by the prestigious Harvard University School of Public Health and completed a research fellowship in 1991. Dr. Zheng subsequently went on to obtain a Masters Degree in Pharmacology from Vanderbilt University. Her strong desire to return to patient care, led her to complete an internship in General Surgery and a second residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center and The Hospital of Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She has served as the primary physician for the Northeast Center for Special Care in Lake Katrine, New York and more recently as Attending Physician at Staten Island University Hospital. Dr. Zheng's vast experience in rehabilitation medicine, internal medicine and pharmacology brings great depth to the care she provides to her patients, particularly in the inpatient acute and subacute rehabilitation settings. | Gustavo Carbone, M.D. Rheumatologist Board Certified in Internal Medicine
Dr. Carbone was born in New York and raised in Argentina. After graduating medical school at the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo in Mendoza, Argentina in 2002, he returned to New York to complete his residency in Internal Medicine at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. During his residency, he developed an interest in rheumatologic diseases and became involved in research on Giant Cell Arthritis (GCA) and Polymyalgia Rheumatica (PMR) at Winthrop Medical Center. During his two year Fellowship in Rheumatology at the University of Vermont in Burlington, Dr. Carbone performed bench research involving one of the newest FDA-approved medications for Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA). His practice will help to diagnose autoimmune and inflammatory etiologies for musculoskeletal symptoms.
